Reviews:Graydon Proline "Elite" Nerf Bars

This time around we install a set of "Elite" Nerf Bars from Graydon Proline.

Graydon Proline "Elite" Nerf Bars Installation

1)Check for aluminum burrs inside the front nerf bar tubes and on the front mount bar. Apply heavy grease before inserting front bar into tubes. To prevent scratching front frame - apply duct tape to frame before installation remove duct tape when installation is completed.

2)Lay the nerf bar webbing on the ground below the nerf bars to determine the proper side and positioning The single notably longer strap runs lengthwise to the ATV and goes to the rear none of the straps mount to the frame. For the looped webbing mounts, the strap is threaded down through the top slot continuing through the bosom slot. Now loop the strap end forward and insert it through the front of the middle slot then back up through to top slot, where it will be underneath the main webbing strap. With the flat dual slot webbing mount (one on each side )slip the strap down through to rear slot, then up through the forward slot. After all the straps are threaded, adjust the webbing alignment making sure none of the straps interfere with either the shift lever or brake pedal.

3)Position one nerf bar on the machine. Place the forward nerf tube on top of the lower frame tube. Line up the rear mounting flange in front of the footpeg. Insert the front frame mount through the frame and into the nerf bar repeat this step on the other side. Thread loosely but do not lighten yet.

4) The width of the bars is adjustable according to where the flange is placed on the peg. When correctly positioned, clamp the flange to the footpeg with a vise grip or C- clamp.Using a 1/4" drill bit in an electric drill, make two holes in the mounting flange, continuing on through the nearest side of the footpeg. Repeat for the opposite side.Check width of nerf bars.

5)When correct, mark top and bottom holes on the front frame mount .Then drill all 4 holes using a 5/16" drill bit. After the holes have been drilled and the nerfs reassembled, insert the 8mm button head cap bolts to secure the nerfs and the front mounting bracket, making sure to put the 8mm nylock nuts on the bottom. Tighten all bolts.
