Big Gun Exhaust System

We chose
the trick new Big Gun exhaust system for its lighter
weight, exclusive stepped headpipes,
as well as the exclusive
Aerospace Ceramic Coating that lowers exhaust temperature
by half for a 2% hp increase, with no flaking, rusting,
or blueing.
The single
most important feature that separates Big Gun from
all other competitor's products, is the unique stepped
head pipe. All current production 4-strokes come with
a single size head pipe. The reason: performance is
adequate, and it's the least costly pipe to produce.
The Big Gun design is the most costly, labor-intense
process. The key to 4 stroke performance is getting
the exhaust gases to exit the combustion chamber as
quickly as possible. The most efficient way to do
this is to match the exhaust header to the exhaust
port, in size and shape, as closely as possible. If
the head pipe is too large (which is most often the
case), the gases exit a small opening into a larger
chamber, allowing the gas to circulate, creating back
pressure in the combustion chamber.
Why
the Stepped Works
The first
8" of pipe coming out of the head is critical.
It must match this size of the exhaust port. From
this point on, it's critical to gradually enlarge
the opening to allow the maximum exhaust to flow yet
prevent any 'wash' or loose exhaust gases. Big Gun
is the only, exhaust system to use a stepped pipe
with a smooth, gradual climb in pipe diameter. Each
model is designed and prototyped by hand before the
tooling can be made to build each model. This is the
only way to accomplish maximum performance.
