Reviews: Big Gun Exhaust System

Big Gun Exhaust System Installation Instructions

1. First step to installing your pipe --You should first be sure that the head pipe slides nice and tight into the tail pipe. Note: if it won't fit together you will need to take a file to the female end of the head pipe and file the outside edge down a little bit. Do this until it will slide together.

2. Now, to install the head pipe, first take some high temp silicone seal and wipe some inside both of the exhaust ports of the engine so that when you slide the pipe in, they will seal up nicely.

3. Now, take both of the header flanges and install them into the exhaust ports remember that it is important not to tighten these yet. Leave loose!

4. Now, to install the silencer to the head pipe. First take some high temp silicone seal and apply on the female end of the silencer where the head pipe will slide in. As well as the outside of the header. This is important for a good air tight seal. Now slide the pipes together.

5. Now mount the silencer with the top bolt on the sub-frame.

6. Now tighten the head pipe flange bolts. Check over all nuts and bolts for correct installation. Let the silicone dry for at least 6 hours before starting.

WARNING

AFTER INSTALLATION OF YOUR BIG GUN EXHAUST SYSTEM

CHECK CLEARANCE OF YOUR OIL BREATHER HOSE. MOVE OR RE-LOCATE IF NECESSARY.

Big Gun recommends the use of Blue Loctite on all nuts and bolts. Four stroke engines vibrate a lot - using Blue Loctite can help prevent future problems from occurring. Also, we recommend that you use Blue Loctite on the buttonhead Allen bolts on the silencer or just keep your eye on them because they can and will come loose over time.
