Tillamook
State Forest

The Tillamook State Forest, located in the Coast
Range mountains of Northwest Oregon, offers some
of the best Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) trails in
the Pacific Northwest. The Browns Camp and Jordan
Creek OHV areas in particular, provide more than
100 miles of easy to most difficult motorcycle,
ATV, and 4WD trail opportunities. The wide
variety of trails access some of the more remote
and scenic parts of the forest and provide
challenge and excitement for both beginners and
experts.
Stay on Designated Trails
To help maintain your trail privileges on the
Tillamook State Forest stay on designated trails
only.
Avoid Wet Trails
Avoid using trails during the wet season. Trail
use during wet conditions has a greater impact on
the trails and increases the potential for soil
erosion and impacts to fish habitat. RESPECT
OTHER VISITORS Please remember that OHV
recreation is just one of the many activities
that take place in the forest. Be aware and
considerate of others you encounter.
Changing Trail Conditions
The trail network is open year round, with the
best trail conditions existing during the spring
and fall months. Individual trails may be closed
at times because of active forest management
operations, extreme fire danger, or trail damage.
Be alert, obstacles such as downed trees and
slides can occur at anytime. Contact the Oregon
Department of Forestry for current trail
condition information.
How You Can Help
The Oregon Department of Forestry would like to
invite you to become involved in the Tillamook
State Forest OHV program. Many OHV clubs and
individuals are currently involved in trail
planning, trail maintenance, and trail
construction efforts on the Forest. Their
commitment and volunteer effort help to promote
responsible OHV use and ensure the future of the
sport in the Tillamook State Forest. For more
information on how you can get involved contact
the Tillamook State Forest OHV Coordinator at
(503) 359-7463.
In the coming years, the Oregon Department of
Forestry, in cooperation with local OHV clubs,
will be working to develop new OHV trails in the
Browns Camp and Jordan Creek OHV areas. In
addition, trail plans and trail maps will be
developed for other OHV areas in the Tillamook
State Forest.
