NHRA
AWARDS CEREMONY TO BE HELD AT KODAK THEATRE
GLENDORA, Calif.
(Aug. 26, 2002) - National Hot Rod Association
officials announced today that its 2002 awards
ceremony will be held at the new Kodak Theatre
in Hollywood.
The NHRA POWERade
Drag Racing Series Awards Ceremony, where the
champions of the 2002 NHRA season will be
crowned, will take place Monday, Nov. 11, at one
of Southern California's premier entertainment
facilities. Limited seating will be opened to
the public. For the last two years the NHRA
awards ceremony was held at The Universal
Amphitheater in Universal City, Calif.
The Kodak Theatre
opened in November of 2001 to rave reviews. The
$94 million project serves as the host facility
for the prestigious Academy Awards Ceremony,
various concerts, live theatre acts and special
events. The Kodak Theatre serves as an anchor
for Los Angeles' new $567 million Hollywood
& Highland destination site, and is operated
by Anschutz Entertainment Group, one of the
leading sports and entertainment presenters in
the world.
Following
the awards ceremony at the Kodak Theatre, the
invitation-only gala will take place at The
Highlands Hollywood, Los Angeles' newest upscale
nightclub with catering provided by Wolfgang
Puck. The 30,000 square foot venue spans two
floors and has two outdoor patios with
spectacular panoramic views of Hollywood and the
L.A skyline.
