Four
new Member Tracks join NHRA family
The
National Hot Rod Association has signed membership
agreements with four drag racing facilities, it was
announced June 6. The tracks, in NHRA's Southeast, South
Central, and West Central Divisions, will join the ranks
of NHRA's other 130-plus member tracks.
The
new facilities joining NHRA's member track program are
U.S. 43 Raceway Park in Ethridge, Tenn., located about
60 miles southeast of Nashville, Tenn.; and Grove Creek
Raceway, in Grove City, Minn., approximately 75 miles
west of Minneapolis. The other two tracks are in Texas:
Denton Dragway, just southeast of Abilene, and Navasota
Raceway, 60 miles northwest of Houston.
"NHRA
is always happy to welcome new member tracks," said
NHRA President Tom Compton, "It's another sign that
NHRA drag racing continues to expand across the country.
We look forward to working with these tracks to bring
NHRA racing to their racers and fans."
All
four facilities feature eighth-mile drag strips. Each
track will participate in NHRA's Summit Racing Series,
and U.S. 43 Dragway, Grove Creek Raceway and Denton
Dragway will also host the NHRA Castrol GTX Jr. Drag
Racing League. The NHRA Summit Racing Series offers
racers of all skill levels and budgets an opportunity to
run for a national championship, while the NHRA Castrol
GTX Jr. Drag Racing League allows kids the opportunity
to experience the thrill of drag racing in half-scale
dragsters.
