Nitro Compact-X racing program for 2003
Pro
Nitro is responding to the rising popularity of
sport compact or import drag racing by offering a
three-class program at all races in the 2003
season. These cars are the "hot rods" of
today and we hope to provide a professionally
prepped track and a great event for these
enthusiasts. We also hope to introduce these
racers and fans to Pro nitro style classic drag
racing.
Pro
Nitro Drag Racing’s exciting new Dial-in classes
are called COMPACT-X. Pro Nitro has two events at
Firebird / Phoenix and two events at Las Vegas
Motor Speedway scheduled for 2003. Compact-X is
only open to Sport Compact type vehicles of six
cylinders or less, or rotary powered. This is a
grass roots entry level program, for local Sport
Compact racers. It is Dial-in
run-what-ya-brung drag racing, broken into 3
different classes.
Compact-X
Classes:
CX-Fast*
For turbo charged or nitrous and modified Sport
Compact vehicles with a Dial-in of 13.99 seconds
or quicker.
CX-Modified*
For stock to mid range modified Sport Compact
vehicles (turbo or nitrous OK) with a Dial-in from
14.00 to 15.99 seconds.
CX-Stock*
For basically stock or slightly modified Sport
Compact vehicles with a Dial-in slower than 16.00
seconds.
*All
vehicles must pass NHRA and race track safety
requirements.
Compact-X
Payouts and Cost to Race: CX-Fast, $600* Win,
$300* Runner-Up, $150* Semis. $60.Car and driver
race fee, covers both days. CX-Modified, $500*
Win, $250* Runner-Up, $125* Semis. $50 Car and
driver race fee, covers both days. CX-Stock, $400*
Win, $200* Runner-Up, $100* Semis. $40 Car and
driver race fee, covers both days. *Full payouts
based on minimum 16 vehicles per class.
Pro
Nitro events, are two day or night races, with
qualifying and time trials on one day (or night)
and racing on the 2nd day (or night). Each event
is heavily advertised on TV and radio and in
regional publications. The stars of Pro Nitro, are
the WILD ground pounding 3000 horse power 6 second
220+ m.p.h. Nitro Fuel Altereds, the 250+ m.p.h.
Nitro-X Top Fuel Dragsters, the 6 second 200+
m.p.h. A/Fuel blown or injected alcohol or nitro
dragsters, the 7.60 index Blown Bad Boy--funny
cars, altereds, dragsters and, door slammers. Each
Pro Nitro event also includes a $1500 to win
dial-in Sportsman / Street combo bracket open to
non-electronics race cars, plus the 8.60 and 9.60
Bad Boy 2 and 3 index classes. A pre ‘78 Car and
Truck Show and a Sponsors / Vendors Midway are
part of each event. So, if you’re looking for an
exciting fan based two to four race series to
participate in with your Sport Compact vehicle,
Pro Nitro is the place for you!!! Each Pro Nitro
event, will produce several 30 minute TV programs
for future national airing on the brand new
Excite-
ment and Speed Network that is launching in the
fall of 2003.
