Doug Gust riding his Yoshimura/Suzuki
currently has a commanding lead of 63 points on this
year’s group of challengers, but that could easily
change at the RedBud track in Buchanan, Michigan, May
22-23.
Five of the fastest riders in the world are in a
tight battle for second place, John Natalie Jr. with 112
points, Jeremiah Jones with 112 points, Kory Ellis at
106 points, Tim Farr with 105 points and Tavis Cain with
90 points.
Promoter and track builder Tim Richie is constantly
looking for ways to give riders the best track possible.
All the exciting features from last year's track are
still there and several new surprises like new table
tops to sand whoop section will defiantly make the track
more technical. Plan to attend the rider appreciation
dinner Saturday night, compliments of Outerwears.
Gates open at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 20. Practice is
set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 21. On
Saturday, May 22, practice begins at 8 a.m., with racing
starting as soon as practice is over. All classes,
except the Pros, will race their first or qualifying
motos and last chance qualifiers on Saturday.
Practice begins at 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 23, followed
by final motos in all classes. Pro riders will race
their first moto at noon, and the Pro final will be held
at 3 p.m.
