ATV GNC - Devore, CA. - Round 1
by
Ray Larez
Tim
Farr puts together a great 1-1 finish in the opening round
of the 2005 GNC season in Devore, CA. at Glen Helen Raceway.
The
day was overcast and rained off and on tough out the day.
But it was still a great day of racing. Tim Farr out of
Canton, OH. lead both races and put in two impressive
rides for Team Honda / Baldwin Motor sports.
The second moto was an awesome race Farr lead from the
beginning with Kory Ellis of Team Yamaha / Alba Action
in a close second. Teammates Doug Gust and Jeremiah Jones
of Team Suzuki / Yoshimura battle for the third and forth
position. Kory was later past by Doug and Jeremiah to
finish a strong fourth in the moto and eighth overall
for the day. Doug and Jeremiah had a two - three finish
in both motos for team Suzuki. Both ending the day with
a second overall for Doug and a third for Jeremiah. Joe
Byrd and Travis Spader round out the top five for the
overall finishes of the day.
Some
riders had a unfortunate day, like Keith Little of Team
Lone Star Racing, Harold Goodman, Team Duncan Racing's
Travis Cain all had mechanical failures.
Update:
At the end of the race there was a protest filed by Team
Suzuki against Tim Farr. They claimed he had some sort
of engine or other mod. that created an advantage. TC
Racing's own Tom Carlson conducted the engine tear down
and it was determined that the engine was of legal displacement
of 449cc.
